Mark Oldman, l'un des meilleurs oenologues Américains, est l'auteur du best-seller ""Les bons plans vin de Mark Oldman"" (publié aux éditions Penguin Books), livre qui a été considéré comme ""parfait"" par le Wine Enthusiast et a remporté le prix Duboeuf du “Meilleur livre de vin de l'année”. Ce guide a également été récemment publié au Japon et en quatre volumes en France.

Passionné à l'idée d'aider les amateurs de vin à bousculer les blasés et à fustiger les prétentieux, Mark est le principal juge dans la nouvelle série télévisée Les Vignerons diffusée sur PBS et apparaît régulièrement dans les meilleurs festivals gastronomiques du pays, comme par exemple la Boston Wine Expo et l'Aspen Food & Wine Classic. Il collabore avec plusieurs magazines spécialisés dans l'art de vivre, et est en charge de la rubrique vin dans le célèbre magazine Everyday with Rachael Ray.

L'approche pro-consommateur de Mark et son attachement à l'éducation ont motivés toutes ses aventures professionnelles. Il est le co-fondateur du portail de carrières Vault.com et est un Trustee Emeritus de l'Université de Stanford, ayant fait partie de son Conseil d'Administration pendant cinq ans.
