Joël Robuchon est né à Poitiers, France, en 1945 et a débuté son apprentissage dans un hôtel-restaurant à l'âge de quinze ans. En 1981, il ouvre son propre restaurant à Paris, Jamin, qui compte trois étoiles au Guide Michelin en 1984. C'est l'ascension la plus rapide dans l'histoire du guide. Nommé ""Chef du Siècle"" en 1989 par le Gault Millau, il ferme le Jamin en 1996 afin d'explorer de nouveaux territoires. Il travaille maintenant en tant que consultant et dirige la chaîne de restaurants L'Atelier, présents dans le monde entier et grâce auxquels il est devenu le Chef le plus étoilé du Michelin.

Even better than the renovated original Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. I love the big round bath tubs. Their set of toileterie products is the best I have found in any hotel. It is my favorite hotel in Hong Kong.

Bathrooms are critical to my appreciation of a hotel. I love the rain showers at Hotel Metropole. They are becoming more common in hotel bathrooms nowadays, but the range is wide in terms of performance. Theirs are at the top.

The Soho Hotel

Their understated modern vibe is a subtle thing to capture. I feel inspired in The Soho Hotel - a great illustration of British talent.

Mandarin Oriental Bangkok
Bangkok, Thaïlande
The obvious classic. There are so many great hotels in Bangkok. The Oriental may not be the most up-to-date. So, it must be purely emotional.
